Background processing
Reported by El Draper | June 26th, 2008 @ 04:39 PM | in 0.5
It'd be cool to have a background processing plugin for Feather, to allow other plugins to queue up requests and stuff. We could use the new background processing "run_later" call in Merb, and the feather-background plugin could provide a single interface to queue up blocks of code to be executed for other plugins. We could then have stuff like feather-twitter automatically update using background processing.

Would be possible. :-) #run_later is merb edge, isn't it?

Would be cool to use e.g. for feather-twitter's tweet aggregation.

Yep it's merb-edge, but we are moving towards that with slices etc. And yeah, that's the idea - any remote source queries like Twitter would be much easier.
